President Kenyatta shaping economic plan ahead of his inauguration
Posted on Saturday, November 25, 2017 @ 13:54:40 CST by kwpnews

Nairobi(PSCU) - President Uhuru Kenyatta appears to be shaping a new economic direction and priorities for he country ahead of his Tuesday inauguration. Indications of the impending economic planning were evident with the agency he has recently shown in the economic front when he chaired the fourth meeting with his economic team ahead of his inauguration on Tuesday.

The meeting, attended by Deputy President William Ruto at the Treasury, comes hot on the heels of a similar one held earlier in the week.

It forms part of the President’s ongoing consultations before he outlines his transformative agenda for his second term in office that is geared towards sustaining the country’s development momentum for the benefit of all Kenyans.

President Kenyatta also held talks with Dr Mukhisa Kituyi, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), at a separate meeting at the Treasury.

The President’s meeting with Dr Kituyi was attended by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed.

Dr Kituyi, who served as Trade Minister in former President Kibaki’s administration, in July won a second four-year term at the helm of UNCTAD following recommendation of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The second term began on September 1 and will end on August 31, 2021.

Earlier at State House, Nairobi, President Kenyatta and Deputy President Ruto met and congratulated Goldalyn Kakuya for emerging the top candidate in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) Examination.

Goldalyn, who sat for her KCPE at St Anne Junior School, Lubao, in Kakamega County scored 455 out of 500 marks.
